About

It’s the news. Only better.

Welcome to Living Radio.

First begun in 2010 as a project of Co-Op Theatre East (under the name Radio COTE), Living Radio continues to re-imagine the news of the day, to imagine how things *could* be.

Every month, we re-imagine current events, to envision what a slightly altered world could look like. Playwrights are given a few days, and several conditions, to create a script; using them, teams of directors and actors then collaborate to create radio dramas; and finally, everyone gathers at FRIGID New York‘s UNDER St. Mark’s Theater to present the plays, live.

We record the live performances, and offer free podcasts of each. Hear them all over on the THE PLAYS page of this site. You can also find us on your favorite streaming platform; just search “living radio nyc,” and it should pop up. Look for the logo below.

Living Radio, a podcast of our new radio plays, created and performed live each month at FRIGID New York's UNDER St. Mark's Theater, New York City
